Metalhead Playlist

After I was aware of Metal music existence and discovered Iron Maiden, I became a collector of bands, digging in as many genres and albums as possible. So this is my last Adolescence Playlist (see previous playlists I, II and III), when I became a Heavy Metal fan.

I tried to choose songs from every genre I appreciated (Hard Rock, Traditional Heavy, Thrash, Power, Progressive, Death, Doom, Stoner, Gothic, Symphonic, Folk, Avant-Garde, Experimental Metal – I was never a big fan of Black). This is not about the most representative bands in metal music, it’s a list of bands or just songs that were/are important to me and bring me memories. Some bands aren’t here because they were already used in my previous adolescence playlists (Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Pantera, etc).

The story didn’t come to an end. After Metal, I moved towards 60’s and 70’s Classic Rock golden ages. I think I went backwards, in direction of the past, the origins. And even after Rock and Metal, I kept on enjoying other music genres, for the love of the music itself. So I searched for popular music like jazz, blues and soul; folk, world and ethnic; and classical/art music. After all, I’m a music lover. Thanks to my heavy metal adolescence.
